This book consists of two works on the history of recorded music as a valuable source on the Russian culture of the twentieth century. The first work by Panteleimon Griunberg is a history of the formation of the music recording industry in Russia and of the companies competing in this market. The second book, by Valentin Ianin, is a catalog of vocal records of the Russian branch of the company Grammofon of 1899-1915. These two works are the first academic studies on the subject. (1.3 kg)
