One of the greatest exponents of surrealism, André Breton, arrived to Mexico on April 1938, and the next four months, his public appearances were scarce, contrary to what was expected before his arrival. There were a lot of causes for his lack of participation in the Mexican cultural environment and in these pages it is intended to make clear what happened with the task of the Mexican poet, the reactions he caused with his arrival to the country, and the problems he encountered as a banner for surrealism.
