The House on Mango Street (Chinese Edition)

It is a pure and beautiful little book, a poetry novel. It consists of dozens of short stories each of which tells a person, an incident, a dream, several flower clouds, a few trees, and a few feelings. All the stories are centered on one topic: a girl called Esperanza (a symbol of hope in Spanish) living in the Latin American immigrant communities of Chicago. Gifted with compassion for the weak and a sense of beauty, she looks around with clear eyes and talks about growth with beautiful language, the vicissitudes of life, the beauty and difficulties of life, and the aspirations and dreams of youth, dreaming of a house of her own and pursuit of the real self in writing in order to obtain the freedom and ability of helping others.
