Poultry Diseases Diagnosis and Treatment

This book, in its third edition, has been completely revised giving latest information on poultry diseases including avian influenza. The basic syllabus pattern of veterinary council of india has been retained for students. Information on drugs, disinfectants, sanitisers and vaccines has been almost rewritten. Chapters on laboratory procedures has been revised and enlarged. Important chapters such as on fungal toxicosis, marck`s disease, gumboro disease, coccidiosis poultry immune system, have been updated. Diseases of ducks have been included related to the expansion of duck rearing. A chapter on quality of drinking water and problems of egg shell have been added. The book retains its original approach of providing theoretical information, diagnosis methods for accurate diagnosis, treatment by latest drugs available in india and lastly prevention of diseases by latest vaccines. About the author: dr. H.v.s. Chauhan who retired as dean of veterinary college, durg (chattisgarh), has wide experience on poultry diseases. He was head of the division of avian diseases of indian veterinary research institute, izatnagar from 1976 to 1979. He was professor and head, department of pathology at birsa agricultural university, ranchi from 1979 to 1998. He is also the author of a book on poultry diseases in hindi, for which he received dr. Rajendra prasad award of i.c.a.r. He was a gold medalist in m.v.sc. Of jabalpur university, winner of dr. Ganty shastri award, and recipient of honorary ph.d. From punjab agricultural university. He went to australia for post-doctoral training under colombo plan. Dr. Sushovan roy is at present professor and head, department of veterinary medicine at college of veterinary sciences and a.h., drug (chattisgarh). He also
