This new edition, the seventeenth, has been thoroughly revised and thoughtfully remodeled. In doinq so the author has adopted a novel method to present the theoretical and practical subject matters, stipulated in ER 91 of PCI, separately to help the teachers to treat the whole course, in theory and practical classes, in two independent individual parts, and in such a way that topics follow each other conveniently in an easy-to-grasp mode. This new pedagogic approach of the author in this textbook of pharmacognosy for the students of Diploma Course deals with the theoretical course in a well-defined separate part (Section 1) for lectures, while the practical course is given in a meticulously organized separate part (Section 2), and is deemed to be conducted directly in the practical classes in the laboratory. This new edition thus offers a "Two-in-One" book of Pharmacognosy.
