Better Spoken English

This is a course in spoken english for national and internationalcommunication. It identifies some common features of standard varieties ofspoken english, and then, following the principle of remedial teaching, itoffers drills in only those aspects which require modification for greaterintelligibility. Better spoken english can be used as a self-teaching tool as well astextbook. It avoids phonetics, the strange phonetic symbols and tonguetwisters and concentrates on features connected with speech: stress, intonation,phrasing and pauses.
