Centrifugal pumps are characterized by high, smooth flows at pressures up to 3000 psi and are less costly to operate and maintain than other types of systems. For this reason centrifugal pump are the most commonly used over a broad range of services from water pumping in a city's drinking system to oil pumping within the machine.
