Workshop Practice

This book is designed for a course on Workshop Practice, which is offered to all students of engineering. This course acts as a stepping stone for further technical studies for manufacturing processes and production technology. The book is the outcome of author's long experience of conducting this practice course during his service period at IIT Delhi. It fully covers the aspects of training in carpentry, smithy, foundry, welding, soldering, brazing, sheet metal work, measurements and working with plastics. In addition, this text devotes four chapters on ferrous and nonferrous metals and alloys, plastics and ceramic materials and their properties and heat treatment.
