Her Stories: 20th Century Bengali Women Writers

A collection of short stories by contemporary women writers of Bengal. They essentially reflect the juxtapositions of class and gender in the decolonized space of independent India. The stories are about women's resistance to, reconciliation with and rejection of patriarchal ideology. Her Stories include a detailed preface. The special feature of the selection is its two-tiered structure, each story is preceded by a brief bio-critical introduction-cum-interview with the respective writer.
