Towards Coordination of Cancer Research in Europe, (Biomedical and Health Research Ser)

A rapid exchange of information between European research institutes greatly enhances the national effectiveness of individual programmes to the prevention and treatment of cancer. This EC research thesis of common endeavour heads this work which is concerned with basic and clinical oncological research strategies evaluation: research towards early detection and improved diagnosis; research towards improved local treatment; and research towards improved systemic treatment. The overview presented aims to contribute to the field of establishing coherent cancer diagnosis and detection methods, and improving systemic research between national institutes throughout Europe. Clinical applications and implementations are featured in the concluding chapter.
