Securitisation - An International Perspective: An International Perspective

Securitization, the issuance of mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities, has become a marked trend in the financial systems of OECD countries. This study examines the causes for the increased use of securitization and analyzes the prospects for its further expansion. Securitization is compared to other, similar financial techniques, particularly the issuance of mortgage bonds which are important instruments in many European markets.
