Practical Cardiotocography

Cardiotocography, or CTG, uses ultrasound to measure a baby's heart rate. At the same time it also measures the contractions in the uterus. CTG is used both antenatally and during labour to monitor the baby for any signs of distress (www.patient.co.uk).
