Materials of Construction, Volume-I

Materials of construction is an important subject for civil engineering students. This subject is taught to the students of Diploma in Civil Engineering in two courses. This book is intended to cover all topics prescribed in the first course. The book is divided in seven chapters, namely, (1) Stones, (2) Timber, (3) Bricks, (4) Clay Products, (5) Ferrous Metals (6) Non-ferrous Metals, and (7) Alloys. At the end of each chapter, summary, a set of fill-in-the-blanks type questions and descriptive type questions are provided. At the end of the book multiple choice questions with answers are given. To enhance the ability of the students to answer semester end examination; three model question papers are also given.
