Electrical Machine Design

This book provides important basic electrical machines design concepts and method needed by the electrical engineering students in their applications. In this book, an attempt is made to present in a simple and systematic way pertinent general concepts in design of electrical machine , deals with relation between rating and diamension of rotating machines, magnetic circuit calculation ,slot leakage, together with solved examples. All the principles and enclosures for rotating electrical machines are presented in the book are illustrated by numerous worked examples. The book draws a balance between theory and practice. In this book I have concentrated on both of these aspects: the tools for selection of number of poles, mechanical design of commutators and brushes , flow chart estimation formula also the method of solving them. A number of solved and unsolved problems are presented for subject learners. Exercises for practice problems for students practice to amplify and extend theory are also included.
