Description
Clinical dermatology is an exciting and often a visually striking specialty, for both veten-narians and pet owners. There have been many advancements in the field of small animal dermatology, with new diagnostic techniques and treatment modalities, and a better understanding than ever before of the pathogenesis of many skin disorders. There are also a number of excellent textbooks pn the subject, with in-depth coverage of the diseases, their pathophysiology, and often their histopathologic presentation. A number of atlases are also available, providing visual imagery for many of the most common disorders seen in veterinary dermatology. However, a practical guide was still needed that provided a summary of the most important clinical information relevant to dermatology of dogs and cats, with collab-orative inclusion of clinical images submitted by practitioners around the globe, in a quick reference format. This book intends to help fill that void.

This Atlas of Small Animal Dermatology was created for both veterinary practitioners and students of veterinary medicine, as a condensed version of the most important clinical information relevant to veterinary dermatology in an image-rich resource. While many books often have a regional bias, it is hoped that the inclusion of images from practitioners of many different countries will also give the book a more global perspective. Finally, while the importance of pathpphysiplogy, histopathology, and pharmacodynamics are recognized and acknowledged, this is a clinical handbook for veterinary practitioners and this particular subject matter is pnly briefly addressed. Similarly, this is not intended to be an all-inclusive textbook of veterinary dermatology, and cpnditions that are considered very rare may be given little pr even no attention. Please enjoy this book for what it is - a quick reference il-lustrated clinical guide to the subject of canine & feline dermatology.
