Description
Volume 5 is a supplementary update volume covering archaeological excavations conducted since the publication of the original four-volume set in 1993. The subsequent 15 years were a period of intense archaeological activity during which numerous new sites were investigated and many important discoveries made. Over 250 archaeological sites in Israel and Jordan are included in Volume 5, reported by over 160 archaeologists. All periods of human history in the Holy Land from the Stone Age to Ottoman times have been covered. Volume 5 includes new entries for sites and topics not appearing in volumes 1-4; updates for many of the entries that appeared in volumes 1-4; comprehensive updated bibliographies for all sites; indices covering all five of the volumes in the set; new and revised chronological tables, glossary and map references for sites; and a site-location map covering all 5 volumes.
