Sips from a Broken Teacup

The largely unknown but true story, as seen through a planter's wife, of the remote, exotic world of East Pakistan's tea plantations; the brave, often eccentric men and women who inhabited them and of lives lived in isolation amidst the dangers of the wild. It is also, a story of exploitation and prejudice; of divided loyalties, patriotism and treachery; of friendship and betrayal; and of the courage and compassion of ordinary people of all races, regions and religions. It chronicles the planters' vicissitudes during the mindless blood lust that tore Pakistan in two in 1971 resulting in the secession of its East Wing and fills in some of the chinks in a saga that has yet to be fully told.
