Roberto Montenegro es uno de los grandes de la pintura mexicana del siglo xx. A su formacion artistica en Mexico y a su estancia en la Europa de 1900-1920, estan dedicados estos relatos autobiografi¬cos. Los planos trazados por Montenegro cobran singulares relieves al acompanarse de vinetas realizadas por el autor en la epoca narrada, asi como en sus anos de vuelta en Mexico. ENGLISH TRANSLATION Roberto Montenegro is one of the greatest figures in twentieth-century Mexican painting. His studies in Mexico and the time he spent in Eu¬rope from 1900 to 1920 are the subject of these autobiographical tales. Montenegros drawings are given a unique context by the accompany¬ing vignettes which he wrote during the two decades in question and after his return to Mexico.
