More than two-thirds of the wastes produced by Filipino households are biodegradable, usually consisting of kitchen and yard wastes. If these biodegradable elements can be dealt with at source, at the household and community level, we will contribute to the reduction of garbage that needs to be transported to dumpsites or landfills.
