Anilao

An excerpt from the Introduction: Most of the images presented in this book were taken over a period of a year and a half in an area barely stretching ten square kilometers. While the authors believe that Anilao's wealth of marine life is adequately represented here, one would have to actually visit and spend a considerable amount of time to appreciate the wonders of Anilao. The incredible variety of nudibranchs, shrimp, crabs, and other exotic creatures such as ghost pipefishes, snake eels, flying gurnards and bobbit worms need to be witnessed first hand. All imaginable variations of crinoids, soft and hard coral, se fans surrounded by clouds of reef fishes provide an explosion of color and vitality that is breathtaking... Anilao's environmental issues are representative of practically all costal areas in the Philippines. At the heart of it all are fundamental questions that all of us answer: Can we coexist with the other creatures on our plane? Can we afford not to?
