"The Story of the Lopez Family" is both less and much more than its title suggests. It is the story of only a very brief moment in the family's history, detailing the events of late 1901 and 1902. But those were important years in Philippine and American history and the Lopez family was uniquely situated to experience critical events from both sides of the Pacific, from Batangas and Boston.
