Prior to going back to heaven, the Lord Jesus Christ, and subsequently some of His apostles, warned that false teachings and general lawlessness would infiltrate the church, thus displacing God's will, and pervasively so in the end-times. So how can we tell if what obtains in the church today, doctrinally, is God's will and not mere false teachings? And how can we know for certain what God's will is? The apostle Paul said Christians are saved "by grace through faith" (Ephesians2:8-9). But Jesus, in Luke 18:8b, alluded that when He comes the second time, faith would be a scarce "commodity" among the believers, as echoed by Paul in 1 Timothy 4:1. So which faith, really, were they both referring to? In view of the Lord's omniscience, knowing the future and the exponential growth in the church since that time and still growing, it is quite evident that He, as well as Paul, was referring to neither personal faith nor religious faith. Did you know that, in the New Testament, the word faith, translated from the Greek word, pistis, was used in at least six different contexts? Interestingly, in recent times a prominent pastor asserted on TV that "ninety percent of our belief system is faulty." So, considering the foregoing in light of what Jesus admonished believers in Luke 8:18; noted in Matthew 4:4, warned of in 7:21-23, and commanded in 28:20 (KJV Bible), can you afford to be indifferent?
