It's main focus was on "Biomedical Engineering Systems and Technologies", spanning all areas of interest interlinking biomedical issues, problems and health sector professionals with engineering and technology, promoting research and innovation in interdisciplinary areas including biomedical electronics and devices, bioimaging, bioinformatics, biosignals and health informatics. BIOINFORMATICS 2014 is part of International Joint Conference on Biomedical Engineering Systems and Technologies. This event was sponsored by INSTICC (Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication). BIOINFORMATICS was co-organized by ESEO, technically co-sponsored by ESEM, BMES, IEEE and IEEE EMBS and held in cooperation with ACM SIGART, ACM SIGBio, AAAI, EUROMICRO, ISfTeH and AAAI. BIOINFORMATICS 2014 received 64 papers in total, with contributions from 61 different countries in all continents. To evaluate each submission, a double blind paper evaluation method was used: each paper was reviewed by at least two experts from the International Program Committee in a double-blind review process, and most papers had received 3 reviews or more.
