Xadka Riddada Maxaa Ka Run Ah? (Somali Edition)

Abdisaid’s 5th book, The Rule of Apostasy In Islam, Is it True, written in Somali language, has ignited fierce debate among the dominantly conservative Somali society. The book became widely popular after harsh and threatening condemnation by some fundamentalist Somali clergy who declared the book as heretical and full of infidelity; and who commanded Somalis not read it. Consequently, the book has stirred stagnant water and created debates among Somalis in Social networks and at coffee shops. In this book, Abdisaid argues that Islam encourages freedom of choice and that it does not impose death penalty on apostates. The book also places serious challenges on other confrontational topics such as the equality of bold money for females and males, and the lethally stoning of once-married adulterers. Although the author’s points of views are not popular among the Scholars of the prevailing Islamic jurisprudence, his arguments, nevertheless, rests on solid grounds. He supports his arguments with evidence from Islamic scriptures such as the Quran, Hadith and authentic and prestigious Islamic literature.
