Church and Social Change: A Study of the Secularisation Process in Iceland 1830-1930

This study is an inquiry into the inter-relations between secularization and the first phases of modernization in Iceland. It focuses primarily on the changing role of the Church in the socio-historical development of modern Icelandic culture.
