How Companies Operate Their Investor Relations Function presents the results of a survey questionnaire sent to the members of the Manufacturers Alliance/MAPI Investor Relation Council. The survey was developed to measure how companies operate their investor relations function. Many of the survey questions sought information on the various activities investor relations professionals perform and the proportion of time spent on each of those activities. Further, the questionnaire sought information about investor relations officers� formal and informal reporting relationships and operational interaction with certain other support functions (in particular, legal, finance, and communications) and business units within their companies. Last, some survey questions inquired about how investor relations officers apportion their time with regard to a variety of investor relations activities, especially trips to brokerage firm conferences and institutional investors.
