"The majority of Canadian firms are only just starting to investigate radio frequency identification (RFID) and are not yet committed to investing," states Nigel Wallis, Senior Analyst of Professional Services for IDC Canada. "While the Canadian business community is are aware of RFID's possible benefits, they do not yet see the business need for this technology. Demand for RFID services will be weak until IT firms can demonstrate compelling business value either as a result of RFID being necessary precondition for participation in critical business networks or RFID adoption can be shown to be necessary for competitiveness."
