Japan Server 2004-2008 Forecast: 2003 User Trend Analysis

This IDC study analyzes the trends of the three leading products of the Japanese server market in 2003 by industry type, by application type, and by company size. The study also analyzes server investment trends based on user surveys. In addition, the study provides market forecast from 2004 to 2008 by industry type and by application type.

Backed by the economic recovery, the Japanese server market is recovering, but the shipment revenue continues to suffer negative growth.

"The Japanese server market is shrinking in terms of shipment revenue. The fate of the vendors is determined by how efficiently they can sell servers. The vendors will have to improve sales system, select focus areas of sales, and to concentrate their sales resources on such areas," observes Masamichi Karasawa, senior market analyst, Japan Server, IDC Japan.
