The new features of the 2nd edition are: 1) a complete rewriting of those articles which needed it from experience of teaching the material. 2) an entirely new set of exercises in the first ten chapters, with minor exceptions. 3) partial revisions of the text in many places, including the replacement of an article under the parabola by a short separate chapter on "curve fitting."
