Japan Network Attached Storage 2004-2008 Forecast and 2003 Vendor Shares

This IDC study presents the performance of the network attached storage (NAS) market in Japan from 2001 to 2004 as well as a forecast up to 2008. The market records and estimates between 2001 and 2004 are analyzed in terms of revenue, unit shipment, and terabyte shipment, together with the analyses by class and by installed OS. "New categories such as nearline storage and CAS are activating the NAS market in Japan," says Masaaki Moriyama, research manager, Storage Systems, IDC Japan. He adds that expansion of categories and development of new applications are necessary for the mid-term growth of the NAS market in Japan.
