From the author: I present the first specimen-supported evidence that Ecuadorian Caciques (Icteridae: Cacicus sclateri) breed in central Colombia. This record suggests a larger breeding range than previously known, and provides information about the nest characteristics and breeding behavior of this rare, endemic species. Received 5 Dec. 2000, accepted 18 Oct. 2001.
