From the supplier: South Carolina schools are using 500 personal computers from NCR Corp. to automate paperwork and recordkeeping. Thanks to the eight school administration applications of Osiris Student Database Management System from Tamarac Systems, Inc., student attendance, grade collection and tracking, and other such daily details have been removed from the teachers' workloads. Reports on students can be compiled quickly, enabling administrators to address situations before they become problematical. The NCR's hard disk has made the system attractive to administrators, who now are beginning to expand into computer networks and data communications.
