From the supplier: MCI Communications Inc received a 5-year, $1 billion contract from the Insurance Value Added Network Services (IVANS) to provide its 400 property and casualty and health insurance company members with standard and specially tailored telecommunication services. IVANS will enlist its members in the MCI program which will save 15-30% in telecommunication costs as a result of reduced rates brought about by economies of scale. MCI will provide international imaging, data, teleconferencing and voice services and will devise special services for individual members.
