From the supplier: A Michigan law that prohibits insurance rebates was held to be constitutional by a Michigan Court of Appeals. Life insurance counselor Peter Katt had questioned the law, charging that it regulated competition in favor of the insurance industry instead of serving consumer interests. The court supported the Dept of Insurance and state insurance association's contention that banning rebates was a consumer benefit, prevented discrimination in insurance sales and provided security for the industry's solvency.
