From the supplier: The Michigan Supreme Court, on Aug 20, 1993, agreed to hear an appeal for reversal of a lower court decision that would allow the Ludington Savings Bank (LSB) to acquire an insurance agency through its Ludington Savings Corp subsidiary. LSB's original petition was rejected by Acting Commissioner of Insurance Dhiraj Shah in 1989. Shah's ruling was upheld by a lower court when LSC brought suit in 1990 but was reversed by the Michigan Court of Appeals on May 18, 1992. The Professional Independent Insurance Agents of Michigan and the Michigan Assn of Life Underwriters joined Shah in requesting the appeal.
