From the supplier: Utah's Granite School District uses its Granite Academy of Multimedia as a means to train talented young people to produce multimedia software. An advertisement for the academy was placed on the district's closed-circuit TV station, and yielded some very motivated students to take part in the program, which was initiated in 1992. Additionally, some participants were recommended by teachers. Students were instructed to create courseware through use of multimedia authoring software. The system chosen for this program was Allen Communication Inc's Quest Multimedia Authoring System. Initially the students produced programs on library use, geometry practice and creativity for gifted students. Many more courses have been produced. Some of the students have received job offers before leaving high school as a result of this program, and faculty members have been motivated to provide ideas for new curriculum.
