From the supplier: Insurance agent groups should focus their lobbying efforts in the national debate on the bank marketing of insurance on Sen Chris Dodd's bill. The legislation would close the loophole known as Section 92 that allows national banks to market insurance from towns with populations of less than 5,000 people. Under a compromise brokered by property-casualty insurance agents, national banks would be allowed to market insurance only in those states that allow state-charted banks to market insurance. The compromise is a fair one and should be supported by insurance agents.
