National Union is introducing the product in recognition to the upsurge in patent infringement lawsuits; patent infringement lawsuits increased by 26% to 1,474 in 1992. The patent infringement liability insurance will pay for expenses and damages, including royalties, lost profits and lawyers' fees, for patent infringement claims.
