From the supplier: Property managers and building owners are finding that flexibility is the key to marketability in the 1990s. With the shifts in the spatial and technological needs of tenants, it is becoming increasingly important for those in the real estate industry to be able to understand and to adapt to these changing needs. Survival now depends on a property management firm's ability to understand the new challenges that its clients are facing and to help them overcome these challenges. To raise, or at least maintain, their occupancy and profitability, buildings would need to show their customer orientation and financial stability. In addition to anticipating their tenants' future needs, property managers would also do well to invest prudently in building infrastructure and technological systems, market to both existing and prospective tenants, and offer more flexible leasing agreements.
