From the supplier: Educators must become increasingly familiar with computer technology to allow them to make their own decisions about the software to be included in their curricula. A one-week workshop was developed to provide university faculty with an introduction to educational software, particularly that accompanying textbooks. The workshop is intended for teachers with no experience with microcomputers and focuses on word processors, spreadsheets and databases; specific techniques are emphasized for simplifying administrative duties. The workshop discusses tasks that can be simplified using specific software packages, provides instruction in use of the package, gives exercises in use of the package and describes applications and objectives of the package. After a brief introduction to the concept of applications software, hardware configurations are discussed and basic operating techniques are examined. Use of the three primary microcomputer applications is described.
