From the supplier: Chicago, IL, disaster planning experts have warned risk managers to expect the almost certainty of future disasters, similar to the Chicago River flood, and cautioned them to prepare, in advance, disaster plans that would minimize building and operational damages. The Chicago River flood forced many businesses to evacuate their buildings. One of them, Kemper Services Co., had prepared a disaster plan that enabled it to relocate employees, obtain prearranged backup equipment and services and resume operations with little loss in time or money.
