From the supplier: A dance education program in a primary school in Melbourne, Australia gave the children the opportunity to express their own ideas about dance in unusual and creative ways. The program was implemented to enable the children to break away from gender-based stereotypes usually associated with dancing. Such stereotypes typically associate boys with aggressive movements and girls with delicate and fragile actions. In effect, the dance program was successful in enabling the students to conquer their inhibitions brought about by gender-based stereotypes associated with dancing.
