From the supplier: The US developed a federally funded educational program called Head Start which celebrated its 25th anniversary in 1990. Similarly, the Chilean government had the La Junta Nacional de Jardines Infantiles, a program designed also for poor children. Although both preschool programs have similar goals and provide the same type of service, the Chilean program is slightly better because teachers should have much university preparation. In addition, investment in teacher professional development is high despite minimum financial assistance.
