From the supplier: 'Retail Investment Sales: Guidelines for Banks' provides guidelines on how to sell mutual funds and other uninsured products. Prepared by the banking industry's six trade associations, the booklet was designed to complement the guidelines and policies released by bank regulators in 1993 by explaining implementation of their recommendations. Areas covered by the guidelines include oral and written disclosure, signed disclosure, advertising and promotion, location, setting and circumstances, employee qualifications and training, employee compensation and referral fees, and bank management and board of directors oversight. Its creators hope 'Retail Investment Sales' will improve customer protection, complement regulatory policy, help banks comply and motivate training and qualifications.5
