From the supplier: Choosing the appropriate carpet adds value to any property. Aside from improving the appearance of a building, the right carpet also enhances durability, ease of maintenance, noise reduction, thermal insulation, non-slip safety, comfort underfoot and environmental-friendliness. In selecting a carpet, property managers should consider several factors. Color and type of fiber should be chosen based on practicality and on how they will function relative to the use of the facility. The type of construction and textures, either level loop pile, multi-level loop pile or cut pile, should also be considered. Evaluation of performance and durability should be based on density, twist and heat setting. Value and environmental considerations are other issues that should be factored in to the selection of a carpet. Guidelines for the installation, care and maintenance of carpets are discussed.
