From the supplier: Daily intra-individual variability in running economy of well-trained male and female distance runners are examined. Running economy is defined as aerobic demand, VO2, at a given submaximal running speed. Runners are assumed to be involved with a program for training and competitive racing. It is shown that the coefficient of variation in running economy is minimal for well-trained runners with a program. The result supports the contention that substantial VO2 changes may not be necessary for effective intervention demonstration.
