From the supplier: The Spring Independent School District in Houston, TX, is using computers not only for the classroom, but also to aid in administration. Student records have been transferred to an HP 3000 950 computer system with software from Carter, Schaefer and Co of Houston, TX. This comprehensive use of computers is unique for a school district with computer applications in a variety of areas. The district's five-year plan for technology will target full integration by 1992 or 1993. The biggest drawback is the regional service center's inflexible software, which was unable to be customized to fit the district's needs. Computers will also be used to track drop-out students and to identify those students at risk.
