From the supplier: A number of technologies and software applications are available in support of property management. These technologies include bar coding, digitized photos, imaging, multi-media and virtual reality. Bar coding involves placing computer-readable labels on objects and is useful for inventory tracking. Digitized photos allow managers to include photos in reports while imaging reproduces documents on paper and is best for operations involving a lot of paperwork. Software applications, on the other hand, include contact management, computer-aided design (CAD), facilities management, executive information systems, decision support systems, expert systems and artificial intelligence. Contact management software contains databases and contact history files while CAD allows the creation and storage of designs. Descriptions of the other technologies and software are also presented.
