From the supplier: The incidence of US banks falling into foreign ownership has raised concern over the availability of loans for small business enterprises. The lending behavior of 73 foreign-owned banks in the US were investigated against the loan portfolio composition of their domestic counterparts between 1984-1989. The results prove that, contrary to popular belief, the foreign-owned banks allocated a larger percentage of their asset base to small business as opposed to the domestic banks.
