From the supplier: Challenges and techniques in the implementation of a culture of intrapreneurship within companies are examined. Intrapreneurship refers to entrepreneurial or innovative thinking and activities within the organization that are sanctioned and supported by resources. Encouraging innovative activity involves assessing current strategies, implementing an entrepreneurial climate and evaluating the results of these initiatives. Assessment should include employee and managerial understanding of these initiatives and the formulation of specific goals in this regard. Critical conditions for intrapreneurship include: positive reinforcement and feedback mechanisms, a focus in individual responsibility and result-based rewards. Controlling and monitoring the results involve encouraging, as opposed to requiring, innovative activity; controlling human resource policy; sustaining management commitment to this movement; and a supportive evaluation stance.
